EMS Corps is seeking committed mentors to support participants in our EMT training program — young adults who don’t have an easy path into the EMS/Fire/Allied health professions.
EMS Corps is a nationally recognized program for creating career paths for young people historically underrepresented in EMS and Fire. Our intensive program combines EMS training with professional development, physical fitness an earned monthly stipend and mentorships from adults working in the field.
As a mentor, you would play a key role in our Corps Members’ professional and personal development. We are looking for individuals who are experienced in EMS, fire, healthcare, or related fields and are willing to:
- Share your career path and insight into working in EMS
- Provide guidance navigating school, training, and job opportunities
- Serve as a sounding board for questions and challenges during their training
- Offer learning opportunities (if you’re a certified preceptor), including ride-alongs or clinical skill-building
- Encourage and motivate students as they prepare for certification and employment
Ideal mentors are approachable, dependable, and passionate about empowering the next generation of EMT professionals.
Many of our participants will be the first in their families to pursue careers in healthcare or fire. Your support can be the difference between simply completing the program and truly thriving in it—helping them build confidence, skills, and a future in service to their communities.
